Football is clearly the number one sport in Swaziland - it is played all around the country and is the main topic of discussion in coffee houses and on the street. The fifth African U-17 Championship was held in Swaziland in 2003, and was a resounding success. From a sporting point of view, the greatest success came in 2002, when the U-16 national team won the Dana Cup in Denmark. The senior national team also reached the semi-finals of the COSAFA (confederation of South African football associations) Cup in 2002 and gained eight points during qualifying for the 24th African Cup of Nations 2004 (Group 9 with the Democratic Republic of Congo, Libya and Botswana). Nine footballers from Swaziland currently play for clubs in South Africa. The most famous players are Sibusiso Dlamini (Kaizer Chiefs) and Dennis Masina (Supersport United).
